“I have always been proud to be from North Carolina, a state that led the South with its forward-looking commitment to education and job opportunities for all families. I’m running for House District 62 to be part of a new wave of smart, caring leaders who will once again put North Carolina citizens first.”

What People Are Saying About Martha Shafer

I worked with Martha when she was an executive with Cone Health. She was an effective, respected executive – by her colleagues, physicians and employees. She was known for her fairness and diligence. She is at a point in her life where she can turn her attention and talents to issues we have in the State of NC and is passionate regarding improving our educational and health care systems. With her extensive health care background, her experiences as a volunteer in our school system, and her other community involvement I am confident that she would be an excellent Representative for District 62.

Tim Rice

Retired CEO, ConeHealth

I am excited to endorse Martha Shafer for House District 62 in the North Carolina legislature. She would represent all of us in NW Guilford County.  Her enthusiasm, dedication and determination know no bounds and I am confident she will work tirelessly for her constituents. I know Martha to be a person of tremendous integrity who has lived a life in service to others. As a mother and an educator, I believe she will be an outstanding advocate for the children and families of North Carolina.
